One in the Spirit Christian Church was founded in January 2013. The vision of the church is to go into the entire world and compel men and women to except Jesus Christ as their personal savior. It’s our desire to raise up disciples by teaching and preaching the word of God with signs following. It is our endeavor through the guidance of the Holy Spirit to seek out the lost, heal the sick, cast out devils and create a union in families that cannot be broken. This will be done through allowing the love of God and faith in God to be shown outwardly toward others. We trust that we will receive divine and supernatural help from God through Jesus Christ to bring this vision into fruition. One in the Spirit Christian Church is a nondenominational faith church displaying the love of God and the manifestation of God’s power in the earth, assisting the Kingdom of God in bringing in the end time harvest of souls. We believe the truth and we know beyond a shadow of doubt that truth comes from the word of God.

The founders of One in the Spirit Christian Church are Pastors Jesse R. Marshall and Lisa D. Marshall. We were married June 7, 1997 and were married for over fifteen years prior to starting this church. In January 2013, during a twenty one day fast, the Spirit of the Lord spoke to the both of them while praying together to begin this church. We both looked up at one another and we knew it was the Holy Spirit leading us to start the process of bringing this church to manifestation. We said to one another did, “You hear that?” Although, we knew nothing about starting a church, through faith we believed God. He said we could accomplish it and we believed it. The Scripture God gave us for the church is found in John 17: 21 “That they all may be one: as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou has sent me.” We spoke with Bishop Kenneth Sims and Evangelist Patrick Sims in reference to starting this church; they gave us their blessing and stated that they would keep us up in prayer and support the church whenever and wherever they could. We spoke with Pastor Danny Elkouri our Pastor at that time, and he gave us his blessing.

In February 2013, we summited our registration form to Oklahoma Secretary of State so that the church would be registered in the state of Oklahoma as a not-for-profit organization. We received our certificate back from the Oklahoma Secretary of State stamped April 1, 2013, making us a legal organization in the state of Oklahoma and across the globe.

One in the Spirit Christian Church began with only three individuals, Pastor Jesse Marshall (President), his wife Lisa Marshall (Treasurer), and Brenda Robinson (Secretary) a faithful follower of Christ. There were others that attended the service but she was always present regardless of the event. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 was the first church service; attendance of around seventeen and the house was packed. The Church service was held at 4403 NW Meadowbrook Dr. Lawton Oklahoma, resident of the founders. The church had its first Sunday service on Father’s Day June 12, 2013. In September 2013 on Tuesday evening the church began to come together for prayer, as we set ourselves to seek the face of God concerning what we should pray about God gave us Matthew 9:37-38 “Then said he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.” We have not stopped praying that the Lord of the harvest send forth laborers.

In October 2013, the paperwork for the church (501c3) was sent to the IRS for final processing. In February 2014, Pastor J. Marshall spoke with the IRS to find out the status of the paperwork and he was told that they were only up to May 2012. We used our faith and said that it would not take much longer for our paperwork to be processed quicker than the normal time. On July 1, 2014, we received our letter from the IRS stating that our 501c3 had been approved. To God be the glory for the things he has done. We thank God for Bishop Kenneth, and Patrick Sims and Elder Anthony Aldridge for their assistance in this endeavor.

On Saturday, April 19, 2014, the church completed its first ordination into the fivefold ministry. Lisa Marshall was ordained as a Pastor and Brenda Robinson was ordained as a Teacher. The church has grown since its inception. Families have come on board and made commitments to assist in fulfilling the vision of this Church.
